Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation

VOM_dog

Healing technology which uses a device very similar to the arthrostim used by chiropractors to locate areas of the animal’s nervous system that have fallen out of communication, and re-establish normal communication. The body has an innate ability to heal itself, but when disease or injury breaks the communication from the central nervous system, the area of the body past that break suffers further degeneration and cannot heal. VOM is one of the most effective and safe healing technology that is non-invasive and well-tolerated by most pets (and their owners) where surgical intervention may not be available as an option.

Typical Conditions Treated

  • Pain
  • Partial ACL tears
  • Arthritis and tendonitis
  • Geriatric diseases
  • Exercise-related injuries
  • Post orthopedic surgery
  • Post neurologic surgery
  • Obesity
  • Chronic, non-healing wounds
  • Muscle wasting (Cushing’s disease, chemotherapy)
  • hip dysplasia or elbow dysplasia
  • Patellar luxation

The most important and classic experience that your pet will have is immediate relief in pain. VOM effectively shuts the 'pain gate' which is essentially a reflex that happens the instant an injury happens due to pain which effectively shuts down communication with the injured area. This is great initially as it can slow down bleeding and allow enough relief for the animal (or person) to get out of danger but it is detrimental chronically as it holds the injury in place, prevents healing, creates muscle atrophy, more arthritis and inflammation and all that goes along with neglect, chronicity, and degeneration.

VOM reverses this process and can re-establish communication with the injured area and get the body back into a healing mode. If you pair this technology with Low-Level Frequency Specific laser which actually promotes the production of ATP(energy) at the cellular level at the injured site, the results can be dramatic. In fact, your pet may be able to avoid surgery and I think this should be the goal whenever possible as inevitably, although surgery is sometimes absolutely the only way, it always adds insult to injury and gives the body more to have to heal. Watch some videos and learn more about this technology and if your pet is in pain, try it! The investment will be worth it and your pet will thank you for it!
