The Family Pet Hospital Laser and Wellness Center has been providing top of the line, compassionate veterinary care in our community for 21 years. We specialize in proactive and comprehensive whole pet care to ensure long and healthy Now hiring a kennel assistant at The Family Pet Hospitallives for the pets we care for and love. We also believe in developing and maintaining strong partnerships with pet owners, providing them with the peace of mind of knowing that their pets are in competent and caring hands.

We are looking for an animal-lover with previous grooming or grooming assistant experience to join our team! Our recently expanded small animal practice has four veterinarians who perform medical and surgical treatment of patients, including exotics. We offer both medical and standard boarding for cats and dogs less than forty pounds, daycare for dogs less than forty pounds and grooming for both cats and dogs!

The role of the kennel attendant is to keep the facility immaculately clean and safe to ensure that our client’s beloved animals enjoy their time with us, and are kept safe, clean and well-fed.

Our basic purpose is to enhance the well-being and comfortable longevity of pets and contribute to the happiness of the families who love them.

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Cleaning kennels
  • Feeding and watering
  • Cleaning dishes
  • Playing and exercising our daycare and boarding dogs, and brushing the cats
  • This position also includes helping our groomer keep the salon sanitary and helping with handling, bathing, drying and brushing dogs

Qualifications: 

Required Competencies and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pet grooming: 1 year
Skills Required: 

The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and meticulously and be able to easily and confidently communicate with our clients to assure them that all of their wants and needs will be followed and their pets are in loving and competent hands.

If the candidate has experience in grooming, there is an opportunity to expand our current grooming schedule as well!

Pay: 

Pay starts at $12/hour and a raise may be awarded at the discretion of the practice owner after the initial three-month training/probationary period.

Benefits: 

Full-time benefits include continuing education, 7 paid holidays, paid time off (after the first 6 months of employment), health and dental insurance (after 6 months).
